...of continuous service to the people of Manchester, the lights have been turned out at Westminster Presbyterian Church. The congregation at Westminster decided to join our family here at First Church. We wish to extend our warmest welcome to our brothers and sisters in Christ.

The newest site on the web...

Thanks and gratitude go out to the members of the First Agape Human Video from the First Assembly of God Church. These home schoolers are soon to be off for their appearance at Nationals in Texas. We all wish them well.

In appreciation...

This is the official call to a congregational meeting to be held on August 8th at 11:15 a.m. for the purpose of voting to allocate no more than $12,500 for the renovation and upgrade of the church kitchen. All church members are encouraged to attend.

CONGREGATIONAL MEETING

Starting this fall, we would like to start a confirmation class for 4 or 5 of our young adults. These classes would be held at the church during regular Sunday School hours for a period of 12 weeks. We have both students’ and teachers’ books. We are looking for at least two volunteers to lead in this confirmation class. We sincerely request your help promoting our young people into the membership of this church. If we are to grow, we need them as they are the future of the church.

This is a very big step for them and for our church. If you are interested, please speak to Becky Ahern, our Sunday School Superintendent.

Thanks so much to the Rev. Emily Rodgers for filling in for Pastor Rickard the past two weeks. Her musical and spiritual passion was contagious. Our prayers are with her as she continues her doctoral studies in Toronto.

...will be held on August 15th at 1 p.m. at the home of Jill and Mark Webber in Merrimack. Hot dogs and hamburgers will be supplied by the church, while “party-goers” are asked to supply munchies, salads, casseroles, desserts. Please see Jill for directions.

The church picnic...

This week, the Rev. Olga-Tines-Smith graced our service in Pastor Rickard’s place. Rev. Olga-Tines-Smith is the Associate Pastor and Choir Director at the New Fellowship Baptist Church located at 50 Ash Street in Nashua. She reminded us how the Holy Spirit can work in our lives in a very powerful and moving way.

Due to Inclement Weather...

...that no one is terribly interested in carrying on the traditions of the church, as no one has volunteered thus far to help with the formation of a confirmation class. If we are to carry on in the Presbyterian manner, we need to help instruct our young people in the functions of the church and its beliefs. Please consider talking to Becky Ahern and lend a helping hand. It is important to the growth and continuation of First Presbyterian.

...today’s annual church picnic at Gil and Alena’s place in Bedford. Directions to their place are on the table at the back of the sanctuary, or you can click here. Hamburgers and hot dogs are being supplied—you are asked to bring salads, muncies, casseroles or desserts. The festivities start at 1:00 p.m.

The Ladies Aid Annual Christmas Banquet will be held...

...host a breakfast for church members and friends on December 5th, from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. The Ladies’ Aid will subsidize this endeavor—however, donations will be accepted. Please see Becky to sign up. They would appreciate a headcount for ordering food. Please plan to come and support our youn people.
