Children & Youth

Ministry to families with children is a central part of our life at First Presbyterian Church. The faith development committee seeks to provide opportunities for children of all ages to encounter God through meaningful worship, education, giving, and fellowship. Children are welcome in worship, and there are opportunities for children to help lead in worship as acolytes [highlight and link to this part on worship page], lay readers [highlight and link to this part on worship page], music [highlight and link to this part on worship page], and special services such as the Children’s Christmas Pageant.

Sunday School

Our team of creative planners and teachers aim to provide thoughtful and exciting ways for children to learn about God, themselves, and others. We provide Sunday school for children Nursery age to sixth grade. Currently, the children are learning about Advent and the stories, songs, and images associated with that season. As part of that, the children are also preparing for worship and the Christmas Pageant that will take place on Sunday, December 11th.

“Tweens”

Activities for elementary age children in fourth-sixth grades occur one afternoon after school every month. This provides a chance for kids from different school districts to connect with each other, build relationships with each other. Games, overnights, conversations, and reaching out to others are all part of what the ‘Tweens do.

Youth Group

Junior and Senior High youth enjoy monthly activities together. We offer a mixture of fun and games, service projects, recreational outings and discussion of topics pertinent to youth. Opportunities for the youth to attend presbytery-wide events and work camps/mission trips to enrich their local experiences are available.
