The Outreach Committee provides for specific
opportunities to care for people within and beyond the walls of our
church as well as contributing financially to the ministry and work
of many organizations.
-
SATURDAY
MEAL PROGRAM:
Each Saturday morning a hearty breakfast is served to our hungry
neighbors. FPC is blessed to be part of a network of churches
that makes these meals happen. We participate by providing the
meal the fourth Saturday of each month. There are folks from our
church who regularly participate. If you would like to be one of
them, please contact the church office [fpcbarre@verizon.net].

OCCASIONAL
MISSION PROJECTS
-
A group from our church went
on a mission trip to New Orleans in the spring of 2006 to help
with reconstruction efforts in the wake of Hurricane Katrina.
-
ECUMENICAL AGENCIES: The Outreach Committee also provides financial aid, either
directly or through the General Mission portion of the church
budget, to local agencies: Battered Women’s Services and
Shelter, Our House, The Good Samaritan Haven,
and
Habitat for Humanity to name a few.
-
VERMONT FOODBANK: We participate in Sort-A-Thons on a quarterly basis, helping
provide needed volunteers to sort and organize donations to the
Vermont Foodbank. For information on the next Sort-A-Thon,
contact Rev. Carl [cvhv@verizon.net] or call the church office.
-
SPECIAL OFFERINGS: Outreach provides oversight and promotion of the following: One
Great Hour of Sharing, a PC(USA) offering received at Easter;
Peacemaking, a PC(USA) offering for local programs, Presbytery
programs, and National Peacemaking support received on Worldwide
Communion Sunday in October; and the Christmas Joy Offering, a
