Nashua Presbyterian: Who We Are

The Congregation is diverse and welcoming. We come from many different backgrounds and we are all in different places in our lives and in our journeys of faith. But we work together, striving to grow closer to God and closer to one another.

Our Church is a member of the Presbyterian Church (USA) denomination, a Christian body that adheres to Presbyterian polity and Calvinist doctrine. Since we are located in New Hampshire, we belong to the Synod of the Northeast, and the Presbytery of Northern New England below that. Denominational polity connects us closely with other PC(USA) churches around the country, and ecumenical relations bring us into close contact with our brothers and sisters in other denominations, here in the U.S. and abroad.

Our Pastor is Rev. Sally Newhall. Sally has served churches in New England as well as in Virginia, New York and Indiana. She has also been a college chaplain and taught a college course on western religions. In her spare time she loves watching and reading fantasy/scifi. She keeps a blog.

Session is the board of elders that governs the Church. Elders are elected by the congregation for three-year terms.

The Deacons are officers entrusted with ministries of compassion and caregiving. Each deacon of Nashua Presbyterian Church cares for a flock of members within the congregation. If you don't know who your deacon is, you can find out by contacting the Church.
